Health Plus

Alternative Health is as old as mankind and in support of thousands of years it was the no more than kind of health around, in other terminology, it was standard health treatment. A bit of imagination and the origin of Alternative Health becomes clear. Effectively each version of the History of Mankind suggests to facilitate for a very lengthy time humans were hunters and gatherers. Here was a definite allocation of tasks in place of the men, women, and children of individuals primitive societies. Since men were normally larger and stronger than women and children, the men had the awesome task of bringing fresh meat back to the campfire. They were the hunters.

The women and children were in charge for the less unsafe labor of finding fruits, vegetables, and any other edible plant life that might be gathered. Women, of course, along with children and injured or disabled men, became the gatherers.

Over the millennia it became obvious to particular women that particular particular vegetation had curative properties for selected of the ailments that beset humans. The skill they acquired was passed down from individual generation to a different and a huge cultural foundation of health information was established, all based on the curative properties of what we currently know as herbs. To facilitate cultural information base is what we currently call Alternative Health and it was at that time the standard. Particular women who were accomplished on tapping into this awareness became recognized by various names that all basically mean "Healer."

The initial Healers

The predictable Healer would be adept at identifying the herbs that were efficient treatments for the collective illnesses and dealing out those herbs so that they might be used most effectively counter to those illnesses. The majority of the dispensation would include using the herbs to manufacture a soup or chowder. Because of their crucial role, the women Healers were highly respected members of their societies.

The Witch Hunts

So it came to pass that a number of men became envious of the women Healers and conspired to take the medicinal industry away from them. How, you ask? Why it was simple! They took advantage of the religious hysteria of the Middle Ages and started a rumor that the Healers were consorts of the evil one. The Healers were portrayed as witches otherwise hags stirring their brew. The brew was explained as being made up of as evil potions and not well being giving herbs. The vicious falsehood worked and many women were killed and other healers went into hiding. For instance a result of the Witch Hunts, the curative industry was taken over by men.

Pharmaceuticals

The earliest drugs were, of course, processed herbs. Since medicinal information became more sophisticated, techniques were refined and we had Aspirin, derived from the bark of the willow tree and penicillin which was revealed on moldy bread. At that time along came companies, the pharmaceuticals, which employed chemists who were able to duplicate many plant based medicines inside a laboratory. Wow! They became enormous profit makers and began to donate generous sums of money to medical schools. At that time they began to, and still do, dictate that which should be taught in those medical schools. Laboratory-produced medicine was deemed to be "in" and Alternative Medicine, herbal medicine, was "out".

In the present day we maintain the majority of mainstream, "conventional", medical practitioners who have graduated from individuals pharmaceutical-sponsored medical schools believing with the aim of laboratory produced medicines are very, very useful and plant based, herbal medicines are very, very bad. The conclusion of this kind of thinking is shocking. Read it in this newsletter article "The Third Leading Cause of Death."
